In France, every employer is obliged to ensure equal pay for equal work or work of equal value between women and men: this principle prohibits any discrimination on the basis of sex.
In addition, in enterprises with at least 50 employees, the employer will henceforth have to publish an “Index of Gender Equality” each year, based on precise indicators, and measuring the situation of his company with regard to equal pay for women and men (pay gap, number of women among the top 10, proportion of increases between women and men).
The index of FONDEX is 74/100 for the year 2019. This note is very close to the target of 75/100 set by the Government; however, FONDEX intends to assume its responsibilities and comply with the implementation of an action plan within 3 years in order to correct the existing gaps.
